An audit of the rally books has been completed by Marcia Fry, Bill Lord and Ron Doerschug and everything was found to be in order.
2010 Rally master, Glenda Hanaford, gave an update on the rally including showing the design for a pin. President Chauncey Ayers asked if any other chapter had a design for the rally pin. With none being shown, Dave Crabtree made a motion to accept the design that was presented by the Tascas. Ed Potts seconded and the motion was carried.
The following charities have been approved for next year by the Executive Board; USO, Victory Junction and Cystic Fibrosis. Mary Wright got up and spoke on behalf of Cystic Fibrosis and her grandson who has the disease. She said that he was going to be given a test drug that should appear to his system that he no longer has cystic fibrosis and they were very hopeful. She also thanked us for our prior support to this cause. Ed Alexander told a little about the USO and how it helps our soldiers wherever they are. We supported Victory Junction last year and most knew about it.
Chauncey asked for a vote and it was decided that we would support both the USO and Cystic Fibrosis for next year.
The fund raising will begin at the May meeting, which will be the 21st, 22 nd and 23 rd at the Virginia Beach Travel Park.
The rally committee turned over to the treasurer $2350.01 which was the $2000 seed money and $350.01, proceed from the rally.
Each coach represented had a ticket for the drawing and the $25 was won by Walter Johnson who held the winning ticket.
The advisory board recommendations were brought up, the first being that it would be nice to have information on nearby attractions and/or events during the state meeting for those folks that did not have to be at the meetings.
The second recommendation for a reduction in state meetings from 4 to 3 was voted on and defeated.
Marcia Fry recommended the Executive Board to decide on how the money from fund raising was to be divided. Chauncey called for the Executive Board to reconvene immediately after the general meeting.
The August meeting will be held at Misty Mountain, the 20, 21 st and 22 hosted by the Blue Ridge Winnies.
The November meeting will be hosted by the Coasters and held at Small Country Campground.
With that a motion was made and seconded by Yvonne Potts to adjourn the meeting. The meeting was adjourned at 1:33.
Respectfully submitted,
Cookie Lachance, secretary
